3rd November Update @ 5pm : The rain is expected to stop at Easts by the 6pm start time so the session for Friday 3rd November  is still on.

27th October 2023 : The Friday 27th Summer Hockey Junior has been Cancelled due to rain/wind it will not be a good experience for either players, parents or coaches.

Please pass this on to team members who didn't register directly.

Welcome to Junior Summer Hockey!! It is sure to be a fun 10 weeks, and it all starts this Friday night.

This week, as it is the first week and we have a number of players registered as individuals, could all players (yes even those registered in teams) please arrive and be ready by 6pm. Please bring both a light and dark coloured shirt. We will also have bibs available.

As it is the first night, please expect some organising to make sure we have a fair and fun competition.

A draw & teams for the season will be released after Week 1.

If you are willing or able to help we are looking for parents who can help coach and organise teams onto the field, please let one of us know either by return email or on the night.

The Summer Competition follows current FIH rules, with the following modifications;

1.        Only Field Players compete in this competition teams do not have a goalkeeper.

2.        Games are played 6 V 6 across ¼ of the field.

3.        Scores are not kept for games in Summer Hockey.

4.        No Hitting the ball. Pushes only.

5.        Players must not play the ball with the back of the stick. 

6.    Dangerous Play - Players must not play the ball dangerously or in a way which leads to dangerous play

7.     Penalty Corners & Penalty Stroke - Penalty Corners (PC) and Penalty Strokes (PS) are not played in Summer Hockey.  If an Offence occurs such that a PC or PS would have been awarded instead a Restart by the Attack will be awarded
